About PrayerBoard

What is PrayerBoard.io?

PrayerBoard is a WordPress plugin for digital signage in mosques. Show prayer times, iqamah countdown, and announcements on a TV or any screen with a browser.

Is PrayerBoard mosque digital signage or mosque display software?

Yes. PrayerBoard is a WordPress plugin for digital signage in mosques. It shows prayer times and other content on a TV or screen — not a generic signage CMS.

Why is PrayerBoard a WordPress plugin?

WordPress gives users the familiarity of using the WordPress workflow; with easy installation, updates and media management. PrayerBoard uses WordPress for local display control while the PrayerBoard api server handles account connection, plan entitlements, and other server functions.

Prayer times, iqamah, and names

Does PrayerBoard show namaz, salah, and salat times?

Yes. Those are all names for prayer times. PrayerBoard shows live times for your mosque, with adhan and iqamah offsets.

Does it show iqamah countdown and adhan times?

Yes. You can show iqamah countdown next to prayer times, and apply adhan offsets for congregational (jamaat) times.

Can I show Jummah notices on the mosque screen?

Yes. Use announcement slides, countdowns, and the marquee for Jummah times and other notices on the same TV.

WordPress requirements

Who can manage the PrayerBoard plugin in WordPress?

Only WordPress Administrators can manage PrayerBoard settings, boards, slides, plans, and billing. Subscribers and normal website users cannot manage the plugin, although public display pages can still be viewed from their board link.

My website is not a WordPress website. Can I still use PrayerBoard?

Yes. Create a WordPress subdomain just for PrayerBoard:

  1. Step 1 — Go to your hosting provider and create a subdomain (just for PrayerBoard).
  2. Step 2 — In your hosting control panel, add the subdomain, and call it: prayerboard or display.
  3. Step 3 — Your subdomain looks like this:
  4. Step 4 — In your hosting control panel, install WordPress.
  5. Step 5 — Install the PrayerBoard plugin, then configure your board.

Note: Your main website stays exactly as it is.

I don't have a website

No problem. We can host your PrayerBoard installation on prayerboard.io, so your login URL would look something like this:

Does the installation come with default presets?

Yes. PrayerBoard includes default setup values, board templates, colour presets, and starter content so you can get a working display quickly.

Plans, upgrades and pricing

What is included in the Free plan?

The Free plan includes live updates, one board design, three templates, one marquee group, core content types, the content database, and PrayerBoard branding.

What do Starter and Pro add?

Starter removes PrayerBoard branding and adds more boards, templates, marquee groups, slide groups, content types, and custom presets. Pro adds prayer calendar, shortcode embeds, and the highest limits.

Can I upgrade or downgrade later?

Yes. Plan entitlements are checked by the PrayerBoard service so the plugin can adjust available features based on the current plan.

Can I try PrayerBoard before buying?

Yes. Download the WordPress plugin and use the Free plan on a mosque or masjid display for as long as you want. Upgrade to Starter or Pro inside WordPress when you need more boards, templates, or premium slide types.

Display and equipment

Can I display the board on a TV or kiosk screen?

Yes. Open the board URL on a Smart TV, kiosk, or any screen with a browser. You can also connect a laptop, mini PC, or tablet over HDMI.

Can I turn a TV or PC monitor into a mosque prayer display?

Yes. Open the PrayerBoard URL full screen on the TV or PC monitor. If its a PC monitor, connect a laptop, mini PC, or tablet over HDMI. There is no separate app-store TV app.

Can I show mosque or masjid prayer times on a Smart TV?

Yes. PrayerBoard is a browser page, so a mosque or masjid can show live prayer times and iqamah on a Smart TV, electronic display, or any digital screen.

Use the TV’s built-in browser if it can open a URL full screen, or connect a laptop, mini PC, or tablet to the screen with HDMI and open the PrayerBoard display link.

Does PrayerBoard support 4K, 1080p, and mosque kiosk displays?

Yes. 1080p and 4K screens support all features. You can run the board as a kiosk in a fullscreen browser. Smaller resolutions may hide some slides.

Can I display mosque events as well as prayer times?

Yes. Alongside prayer times you can show event countdowns, announcements, images, video, and slideshows on the same TV.

Can PrayerBoard be a mosque announcement screen or digital notice board?

Yes. The same TV can show announcements, events, and scrolling notices next to prayer times — a digital notice board for the mosque.

Can I use PrayerBoard on a Raspberry Pi?

Yes. PrayerBoard runs in a normal web browser, so a Raspberry Pi can show your board on a mosque TV in full-screen or kiosk mode.

On a standard Raspberry Pi OS kiosk setup, set your PrayerBoard display URL in the browser startup / autostart configuration.

Devices preloaded for other digital display systems are usually locked to that product. For those, install a normal Raspberry Pi OS (or a simple browser-kiosk setup), then open your PrayerBoard board link instead.

A Pi 4 or newer is usually more reliable, especially with video or heavier slides.

Slides and content

Does PrayerBoard support content slides?

Yes. Supported content includes announcements, images, event countdowns, moon phase, slideshows, videos, embed HTML, widgets, and more depending on the plan.

Can I show or hide Qur’an ayats?

Yes. You can control whether ayat content is shown, and individual ayats can be hidden from the Content pool menu. This is useful because an ayat shown on its own may not always carry the correct context without the surrounding verses.

Can I hide hadith?

Yes. Hadith content is optional, and individual Hadith entries can be hidden from the Content pool menu. This is useful when a Hadith is not suitable for your display context, audience, or message schedule.

Can I schedule a slide?

Yes. Slides can have start and end dates, so announcements, images, countdowns, videos, and other content can appear only during the dates you choose.

Can I embed HTML code into a slide?

Yes. You can embed HTML code into a "HTML embed" slide. This allows you to display custom HTML content on the board.

Customization

Can I use my mosque colours?

Yes. PrayerBoard includes preset colour designs and paid plans support custom colour presets for mosque branding.

I do not like the colour scheme. Can I change it?

Yes. You can choose from built-in colour presets, and paid plans include custom colour presets so the board can better match your mosque branding.

Troubleshooting

Do I need a separate API key for prayer times?

No. PrayerBoard is designed so sensitive api keys stay on the PrayerBoard api server rather than inside the WordPress plugin.
